Compare the AirFly Pro 2 and AirFly SE to find the right wireless audio adapter for planes, gyms, and more. Key differences in shared listening, battery life, and accessories explained.
Quick Answer
Choose the AirFly Pro 2 if you want to share audio with a second pair of wireless headphones or need the longest battery life (25+ hours) and an included travel bag. Pick the AirFly SE for simple solo listening at a lower price, with 20+ hours of battery life and no extra accessories.
Shared Listening vs Solo Simplicity
The biggest difference between these two Twelve South adapters is whether you need to share audio. The AirFly Pro 2 lets you pair two sets of wireless headphones to one device, making it ideal for watching a movie with a travel companion. The AirFly SE is designed for solo use only—it connects to a single pair of Bluetooth headphones or earbuds.
Both adapters plug into any standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, so they work with in-flight entertainment systems, gym equipment, and classic stereos. Neither requires an app or complicated setup; pairing happens in seconds.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is a key practical difference. The AirFly Pro 2 offers 25+ hours of playback on a single charge, while the AirFly SE provides 20+ hours. For most travelers, both will cover a long-haul flight plus several days of use, but the Pro 2 gives you extra margin if you forget to recharge between trips.
Both models recharge via USB-C, which is convenient if you already carry a USB-C cable for your phone or laptop. The AirFly Pro 2 also includes a premium faux suede bag for storage and an International Airline Adapter—useful for older seat jacks on some international carriers.
Price and Value
The AirFly SE is priced at $25.54 (catalog comparison price $34.99), making it the budget-friendly choice for solo listeners. The AirFly Pro 2 costs $44.99 (catalog comparison price $59.99) and justifies its higher price with shared listening, longer battery life, and the included travel accessories.
If you rarely share audio and don't need the extra battery headroom, the SE saves you money. If you often travel with a partner or want the convenience of a carrying case and adapter, the Pro 2 is worth the upgrade.
