Which BookArc versions work with Insert H?
Insert H is designed for BookArc stands manufactured in 2015 and later. It is not compatible with the BookArc mod, BookArc for MacBook Air (pre-2015), or the previous version of BookArc for MacBook (pre-2015). If you are unsure which version you have, check the underside of the base for a date stamp or model number.
MacBook models supported by Insert H
Insert H fits 14-inch MacBook Pro (M2, 2023), 13-inch MacBook Pro (M2, 2022), 14-inch MacBook Pro (M1, 2021), and 13-inch MacBook Pro (2020). It does not support earlier MacBook Air or MacBook Pro models from before 2020. If you have a different MacBook, check Twelve South's compatibility chart before purchasing.
How to install BookArc Insert H
- Remove the current insert: Gently pull the existing insert out of the BookArc stand. It slides out from the front without any tools. Do not force it—if it feels stuck, check that you are pulling straight out. Common mistake: twisting the insert while pulling can damage the stand or insert.
- Align Insert H correctly: Hold Insert H so the curved side faces upward and the flat edge is at the bottom. Slide it into the slot until it clicks into place. The insert should sit flush with the stand's frame. Check that the insert is oriented correctly before sliding it in—reversing it will prevent your MacBook from sitting properly.
- Test the fit with your MacBook: Place your MacBook into the stand. It should rest securely with the insert holding it at the correct angle. If the laptop wobbles or does not sit evenly, remove the insert and recheck alignment. If the fit is still off, your BookArc may be a pre-2015 model—Insert H will not work with it.
